ABOUT ONSLAUGHT - THE NEW 3 MAN HORDE MODE
Following its meteoric rise in popularity during Into the Light, Onslaught has very quickly become a fan-favorite activity for getting gear quickly, easily, and in one of the most fun ways possible - killing tons of enemies! And it just keeps getting better, as Bungie has confirmed that Onslaught is here to stay during Final Shape.;
HOW DOES ONSLAUGHT WORK?
Onslaught takes place in the Last City, where Guardians are responsible for protecting their home from the advancing forces of darkness and waves of enemies.
This new game mode is Destiny's closest take on a horde mode yet. Onslaught features up to 50 waves of escalating enemies, with bosses appearing every 10 waves and special Pyramid ship encounters.
The activity ends if the central "ADU" is destroyed or, depending on difficulty, if the fireteam is eliminated. Waves last roughly 1-2 minutes, followed by a brief window to purchase and upgrade defenses using "Scrap" – a currency earned by defeating enemies. These defenses offer crucial assistance but can be destroyed. Watch out!
ONSLAUGHT REWARDS
As with all Destiny 2 activities, the rewards are a key motivator. Completing waves grants chests with loot. The Legend mode drops double-reward chests every 10 waves, culminating in a final chest of even greater value. Expect iconic weapons like the Hung Jury SR4 and Midnight Coup to make a return. These are the famous "Brave Arsenal" weapons you've been reading about. There's 12 of them and they drop from Onslaughts!
Completing secondary objectives and earning Trophies of Bravery yield even more rewards and currency to spend with Shaxx, at the Hall of Champions.
SHAXX QUESTS & SHADERS
Brave Weapons will drop from Onslaughts with a random chance.
However, Shaxx quests (he is in the Halls of Champions) will grant you the weapons too! In fact, each quest completion will award you a base roll of a Brave Weapon, with the new Limited Time Shader (only obtainable before The Final Shape is released) and x1 set of Perks. If you obtain all 12 weapons, you will also unlock the Super Black shader.
At this point though, you may be left with 12 weapons and amazing shaders, but not a great roll for either of them...and with just x1 set of Perks. That's where you need to farm Onslaughts!
